RIP Tony Fitzgerald

ll of the Cork Youth Leagues members are saddened to learn of the death of former FAI President Tony Fitzgerald.
Tony was one of the founding members of this League in 2005 and was in fact our first Chairman. He along with Paddy Byrne, John Finnegan, Michael Foley, Peadar O Leary and Barry Peelo were the first committee when they amalgamated the Youth leagues of the Cork AUL and The MSL and began a journey that has seen this League grow from 24 in our first season to over 100 today.
Tony occupied many offices in football but always maintained an interest in grassroots football. He achieved the highest office in our Association when he became President.
To his family and friends we extend our sincere condolences.
May Tony Rest in Peace.
